Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is the largest U.S. foundation contributing to health care programs. Its major initiatives are: to assure that all Americans have access to basic health care at reasonable cost; to improve care and support for people with chronic health conditions; to promote healthy communities and lifestyles; and to reduce the personal, social and economic harm caused by substance abuse. The Foundation publishes and distributes widely to eligible organizations its call for proposal and national program announcements (see the "Special Funding Initiatives" section of this bulletin for additional information). Individuals wishing to apply for funds not in response to a call for proposals or national program announcement should submit a preliminary letter of inquiry. However, if your project does not fit under one of the foundation's competitive national programs, applicants are encouraged to send project ideas that address its goals and interest areas.
